If you’re making it for yourself, play around with the length and where you where it to see where to put it without a ponytail – you might need to make a much shorter one around the back of the neck. It’s also going to depend on the length and stretch of the mask straps. Good luck!

In reply to nancy. Hi Nancy, for both children and adults, the length is going to vary depending on the length and stretchiness of the elastic straps or ties of the mask itself. In general, I would think just a few inches of elastic for the button band should suffice for kiddos.
